our story
This journey is about more than a drink.
In 2017, we traveled to Erfoud, on the edge of the Moroccan desert, and instantly felt a deep connection to the land, its culture, and the sacred role of the date palm. Dates have always been more than food. They are tradition, ritual, and a living link to heritage.
On a quiet morning, following an ancestral custom, a newborn was introduced to the sweetness of a date. That tiny, ceremonial moment sparked our curiosity: what if the seeds inside held secrets of their own? We began exploring them and discovered their incredible health benefits—ten times more than the fruit itself.
From that discovery, DATTA was born: a bridge between cultures through a long-forgotten treasure, the date seed.
DATTA is crafted with care by an intergenerational group of 25 women in southern Morocco. Their skill, dedication, and sense of community infuse every batch, blending tradition, resilience, and sustainability into a single cup.
This journey is about more than a drink. It is about celebrating the date palm, honoring the communities that sustain it, and sharing a taste of heritage, reimagined for today’s world.
